Background

The client is a large textiles manufacturer based in the Midlands. They operate a single manufacturing site with a large electricity spend of over £4m per year.

The solution

PCMG were commissioned by the textiles manufacturer to undertake an audit on their energy and water costs and to identify any ongoing cost reduction opportunities.

PCMG identified errors with the clients’ distribution charges and negotiated with the DNO and supplier to secure the new distribution tariffs on a backdated and ongoing basis and managed everything from recommendation to implementation.

As PCMG successfully argued for new rates to be calculated going back to when the errors started, we enabled an ongoing saving of over £200k per annum and secured an instant refund of £25k for the client.
